The amp requires a 9v reverse polarity adaptor like the Boss PSA-120S AC Adaptor. The Danelectro DA-1 that Amazon reccommends won't work as the polarity is different. I'll be playing it through my '61 Strat. So far so good. Real dirty sound.

My wife bought this for me as a gift along with some headphones (I can take a hint). Actually, she bought it as a gag Christmas gift not thinking it was truly functional. A bit pricey for a gag gift, but it turned out good.
I have found that the sound quality is decent when I am at half volume or below, but tends to distort (unwanted on the clean sound) and not sound good above that level. That still allows me to practice at low volumes without disturbing the whole house. The distortion option does allow for a bit more volume as the speakers are distorting anyway.
The headphone feature is great, as it will blow the phones right off my head, which tells me the speakers are the weak link in this item, not the amplification. So I can (somehow figure out a way to) hang it on my belt and be mobile with my headphones and have a very good sounding setup. This is a good thing since I am replacing my little Epi 15R amp with a Fender Super Champ XD (Both would be tethered to the wall AC outlet).
Other minor drawbacks are: needs an AC power converter and it would be nice if that came with it for the price; the little foam insert in the battery compartment takes up too much room, so I had to take it out to allow a 9-volt to fit without excessive pressure on the plastic battery cover; and no belt hook to allow ease of mobility.
Overall, I like the amp for the purpose I have.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I received the mini amp sound wise. I was surprised at how good this small amp actually sounds when I played on it.
Straight out of the shipping box my amp rattled like there was something loose inside the amp itself so I opened up the back and found 1 of the clamps that holds the speakers had came loose inside. I tried to screw the clamp into the same original hole but the particle board had been destroyed in that spot (stripped). I made another hole and reattached the clamp for the speaker, closed the back up again and it plays wonderfully.
For $50+ it sounds fantastic if you don't have to mess with the screws or the cheap particle board construction its great for quiet practice.
Can use batteries or purchase a wall outlet adaptor for it.
